Dungeons &
Dragons Club

Not a coder? No problem. Our D&D club builds teamwork, creativity, and social skills through epic tabletop adventures. No experience needed -- just a willingness to roll the dice.

What Is D&D?

The world's most popular tabletop role-playing game, and one of the best tools for building real-world skills.

Dungeons & Dragons is a collaborative storytelling game where players create characters and go on adventures together, guided by a Dungeon Master (DM). There are no screens, no controllers -- just dice, imagination, and a group of friends around a table.

Each player controls a unique character with their own abilities, personality, and backstory. Together, the group faces challenges, solves puzzles, battles monsters, and makes decisions that shape the story. Every session is different because every group is different.

Our experienced DMs run the sessions, create the adventures, and make sure everyone has a great time -- whether they've played before or not.

Skills They'll Build

D&D isn't just a game. The skills it develops are backed by educators and psychologists alike.

Social Skills

D&D is played face-to-face in a group. Players learn to listen, take turns, negotiate, and work together -- skills that transfer straight into school and life.

Creativity

From designing characters to improvising dialogue, every session is an exercise in creative thinking. There's no script -- just imagination.

Problem-Solving

Every quest is a puzzle. Players learn to strategise, weigh options, manage resources, and think on their feet when things go sideways.

Teamwork

No one wins D&D alone. Every party needs different skills, and players learn that the group succeeds when everyone contributes.

Confidence

Role-playing lets kids try on different personas in a safe space. Shy kids find their voice. Loud kids learn to listen. Everyone grows.

Maths & Literacy

Probability, mental arithmetic, reading comprehension, creative writing -- all baked into every session without feeling like homework.

How It Works

Everything you need to know before your child's first session.

First Session

We help your child create their character, explain the basics, and get them into a session with other players. No preparation needed -- we provide dice, character sheets, and everything else.

Ongoing Campaigns

Once they're hooked, players join an ongoing campaign -- a story that continues from session to session. Characters grow, relationships develop, and the stakes get higher every week.

Group Sizes

Groups are kept small (typically 4-6 players plus a DM) so everyone gets a chance to contribute and no one gets lost in the crowd.

Age Groups

We run separate groups for younger (10-13) and older (14-18) players so the themes, complexity, and social dynamics are right for every age.

D&D Club FAQs

Do kids need to know how to play D&D?

Nope! We explain everything as we go. Most of our adventurers start with zero experience. Our experienced Dungeon Masters guide children through the rules, help them create characters, and run sessions at a pace that suits the group.

Can neurodiverse children take part?

Yes, absolutely. Our DMs create a welcoming, inclusive space and adjust the pace and content to suit the group. D&D is particularly well-suited for neurodiverse players -- the structured imagination, turn-taking, and collaborative storytelling provide a safe framework for social interaction.

Is this a drop-off session?

Yes -- you can drop your child off and collect them at the end. Some venues have waiting areas or there are nearby cafes if you prefer to stay close. Sessions typically run 120 minutes.

Can I use Childcare Vouchers or Tax-Free Childcare?

Yes, if the venue is on the Ofsted voluntary register (all our venues are). You can pay with Tax-Free Childcare to save 20% on session fees.

Where is D&D Club currently available?

D&D Club is currently running at Player Ready Exeter, with more venues launching soon. This page always shows up-to-date booking availability. When other venues are added, they will appear here too.

Roll for Adventure

The first session is free. Your child just needs to turn up and be ready for an adventure. We handle the rest.
